H Farmlands, a story of a struggle and legacy
by Eng. Rayan Haidar (CISCC, CISCM, DBA candidate)
In 1958, my father officially established his Fruit farm in Northern Beqaa, starting in the forties with a small plot of land inherited from his own father. While still a medical student, he cultivated those fields with dedication and vision.
For more than a century, these lands have remained a cherished part of our family heritage. Together with my siblings, we have worked tirelessly to preserve, expand, and nurture them through challenges and triumphs alike.
Today marks a proud milestone: the fourth generation will carry this legacy forward. I will continue to support and guide her as she steps into this significant new role.
Please join me in congratulating Eng. Nadia Haidar on her appointment as Senior Operations Manager of H Farmlands. Her leadership represents not only continuity, but also the promise of growth and innovation for the future.

From local to international, we continue to keep the grind!!!
Big news from Ardi Ardak!
We are proud to share that Ardi Ardak products have officially arrived in the UAE! This marks a major step forward in our mission to bring natural, healthy Agri-products to new markets. With strong momentum behind us, we’re already preparing fresh stocks from our fields in H Farmlands-Beqaa to keep up with demand and expand our reach.
Meanwhile, back home in Lebanon, we’re incredibly grateful for the support from Soubra Pharmacy, & Dr. Samer Soubra who have embraced our vision for sustainable agriculture. By promoting our all-natural products, they’re helping make premium, healthy goods more accessible to their customers — and championing a future rooted in wellness and environmental responsibility.
Two markets, one mission: to grow sustainably and nourish communities from our fields to your tables.

How to ensure resilience and sustainability in Agriculture?
Driving back from our family farm, where the apple harvest is in full swing, I find myself reflecting on a pressing question: how can we ensure the sustainability and resilience of agricultural businesses, both on our farm and across Lebanon?
The answer demands a strategic approach to overcome persistent challenges. Limited access to markets, fragmented supply chains, and insufficient financing continue to obstruct our ability to shift toward more competitive crop varieties. In today’s volatile environment, further strained by geopolitical uncertainty, we must actively seek alternative solutions. Embracing smart agriculture, adopting certified export-ready varieties, and streamlining production costs are critical steps toward building a more adaptive and future-proof agricultural sector

Celebrating Nelson Mandela Day
Mandela Day is a reminder that within each of us lies the power to shape a kinder, fairer world. It celebrates the quiet strength of compassion and the belief that no act of goodness, however small, is ever wasted.
Let us honor his legacy not just with words, but with actions. A helping hand, a kind word, a moment of understanding, each one ripples outward. As President Mandela (Madiba) taught us, even the softest voices can stir the strongest winds of change.
So, let’s keep doing our “little goods” to overwhelm the word and make it a better place.

Land Optimization, a path to a more sustainable agriculture
Land optimization in agriculture involves maximizing the efficiency and productivity of land use while ensuring sustainability. This process includes various strategies such as:
1. Land Suitability Analysis: Assessing soil quality, climate conditions, and water availability to determine the best crops for a given area.
2. Precision Agriculture: Using technology like satellite imagery and sensors to monitor soil health, moisture levels, and crop growth.
3. Intercropping and Crop Rotation: Enhancing soil fertility and reducing pests by alternating crops or growing multiple crops together
4. Agroforestry: Integrating trees and shrubs into farming systems to improve biodiversity and soil conservation.
5. Metaheuristic Optimization: Applying advanced algorithms to balance economic, environmental, and social factors in land use planning.
We are making ongoing advancements in the intercropping initiative, thanks to the partnership and unwavering support of Ardi Ardak and the leadership of asmahan zein.
Positive results have been observed, enhancing farmers’ returns and enabling them to concentrate on products that can be processed to deliver added value.

Agriculture is our wisest pursuit because it will in the end contribute most to real wealth, good morals, and happiness.” – Thomas Jefferson
Whenever I visit the family farm to oversee the work and harvest, I feel a deep sense of pride in our heritage and the tradition passed down from father to son. Nonetheless, I also worry that our children might not continue this legacy, having seen firsthand the difficulties of agriculture and the challenges we face every day.
Let us make sure that we keep agriculture and farmers at the heart of our economy.

New Apricot Harvest Season Started
Lebanon’s agricultural sector continues to face significant challenges, with a fragmented supply chain placing a heavy burden on farmers. We are hopeful that the new initiatives led by His Excellency Minister of Agriculture, Nizar Hani Ph.D, will provide much-needed support and drive positive change.
We commend the resilience and determination of farmers and landowners who, despite the many obstacles they face, continue to persevere. Today, our client, H Farmlands, has begun harvesting apricots, with hopes of strong yields and favorable prices to help offset the losses caused by last year’s conflicts. We remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting them in their journey toward a more sustainable and prosperous agricultural future.
